This was not what we had planned. Snow was on the schedule for journaling this week. It all started with last weeks challenge about food. I was going to scrapbook a page about Ebelskivers (filled pancakes) that my Grandma always made for us when we visited. Every time I sat down to do it I just felt so overwhelmed with all of the emotions tied to my Grandmother. It has been over a year, but part of me, sometimes, thinks she is still at home in Idaho. Since I did not see her daily, and some times did not see her for very long lengths of time, it feels like nothing has changed. It is only on our trips to Idaho that I realize there is no longer a Grandma's house to go to. So last night in my last ditch effort to force a page.. I realized that I should be making a page about Grandma herself..then maybe the Ebelskivers. It is a work in progress, but we plan to have it posted to the blog this week.
Here are some ideas....
1. What are the special things you did with your Grandma? Bake bread, play dolls, go shopping?
2. What were your visits like with Grandma? Could you run to her house whenever you wanted? Did you come for long visit since you lived far away?
3. Is there a special mentor in your life who took the place of a Grandma? Someone else's Grandma, a kind older lady in your ward?
4. What did your Grandma teach you?
I am sure your ideas are endless. Don't forget, we would love to see your work!
