I was in a small town in Idaho last week for a family funeral. It was a couple of days after Memorial Day and the graves still had all of their flowers and decorations. In this grave yard are generations of my mother's family. Including my grandparents whom I love so dearly. It was the first time I had seen their headstone. It really is not a headstone, it is a bench. A place to sit and reflect about them. I was early at the site and had a chance to sit on the bench. I could smell the fragrance of lilacs that someone had left. Grandma and Grandpa always had lilac bushes in their yard. It was beautiful to sit their smelling the flowers grateful for the Plan of Salvation that allowed us to be an eternal family.
This week we challenge you to create a layout or journal about a core belief. The Plan of Salvation, the divinity of Jesus Christ, or faith and hope. Some times we do not share these things. It is either such a part of us that it seems natural, or it is something sacred and held in reverence, or we just cover the day to day aspects and forget to share our deepest feelings. Here are some ideas.
1. Make the title of the page "I Believe"..as a spring board.
2. Share a faith promoting, life changing experience.
3. Record the feelings you had at your baptism.
4. Write down your testimony.
