How often do you see your family? Now a days it seems a struggle to get together with just my siblings and their children. As families grow we often drift apart as we start our own family units. Just fitting everyone in the same house becomes a little difficult to do.
But at those magical times when we do gather, when grown children laugh with their cousins and spill the secrets of their adventures during their youth. When we gather around our grandparents to hear stories of their lives and adventures. It sends us back to our youth and makes you feel safe to be in those family bonds. Not to mention the food (Aunt Karma's chocolate cherry cake..mmmmm).
I have those experiences and am so grateful for them. As reunions are getting farther and farther apart I am realizing it is up to the next generation to carry them forth.
Journal Challenge:
1. Share your reunion experiences.
2. Journal about a desired reunion. ( My father was raised in Ireland and most of his family is still there. I have never met them but long for that day to come.) Who do you want to see, what do you want to know?
3. What are the traditions behind your reunions? Where do you meet?
4. Who is your favorite relative. The person you just can't wait to see at the next reunion.
5. What traditions do you have regarding food? (mmmm Aunt Karma's chocolate cherry cake)
