Every year I include a Lingwall Top Ten in our Christmas Cards. I stole the idea from David Letterman. I could not do it this year. I could not bare to share our top ten with friends and family.
It was a hard year. My husband and I were at Trolley Square, here in Utah, when a lone gunman started shooting. He killed five people and wounded others. It was frightening and thought provoking and affected me more than I could ever explain. Our youngest, Bea, had seizures this summer. She was tested at Primary Children's and has shown a little abnormal brain activity. Her tests in themselves had some pretty weird, though temporary, side affects. My beloved friend and cousin died of cancer. She was 30. She left behind a young family that has as much faith as Lehi and his family when they abandoned the life they knew and accepted the Lord's will. My only Grandmother died after a very brief illness. She was not old, or ready to die, and it was a shock. I was able to pray at her funeral being the oldest of 25 cousins. My father had surgery for cancer right before Christmas, he is fine. My husband is in the Bishopbric, works full time, and is back in school full time. I am in the Relief Society Presidency.
I tell you these things not for a pity party. I just feel that I have not fulfilled by obligations to you as customers of LDSscrap. I have not kept up on all our specials, or plans, and I wanted you to know why. I am usually not a flake. I look forward to a much better and less stressful year. So thanks for your patience!!
